Table de divination #1, 2026

Installation and performative device, 140 x 80 cm

A banquet table is covered with a cloth onto which heterogeneous archives accumulate — historical, artistic, popular and intimate references layered together. On this surface, symbolic objects are arranged: a rose of Jericho, a shell, a plastic lemon, French coins (1931–1945), benzoin, cinnamon, 777 tea. Each object sits at the threshold between the ordinary and the ritual — present in everyday kitchens and grocery stores, yet carrying unarchived uses and meanings.

This evolving altar becomes a mediating device between the visible and the invisible, between institutionalised knowledge and belief. The objects are not props: they activate the work and transform according to each exhibition space and the encounters that precede it.

Table de divination #1 is a site of collaborative performance — evolving through each activation, shaped by the people who gather around it. Ritual bread is shared with the audience, making the table a space of transmission in act. This gesture extends a broader inquiry into sensory women's knowledge: oral recipes, kneading gestures, the uses of spices in practices of care.
